Continental Cement has two manufacturing facilities in Davenport, Iowa and Hannibal, Missouri and nine distribution terminals along the Mississippi River between Minneapolis, Minnesota and New Orleans, Louisiana.
Project Goals & Objectives
Educate employees and contractors on safety protocols specific to the manufacturing facilities and distribution terminals:
- Enhance engagement, comprehension, and retention of safety procedures through visual and audio mediums.
- Ensure consistency and clarity in safety messaging across all manufacturing facilities and distribution terminals.
- Increase accessibility to safety information by providing video resources that can be accessed remotely or on-site.
- Reinforce key safety messages through memorable visual demonstrations and examples in the videos.
- Empower employees and contractors to proactively identify and address safety hazards by incorporating interactive elements in the videos.
- Align safety video content with industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure relevance and compliance.
- Leverage the effectiveness of storytelling techniques in the videos to create a compelling narrative around safety culture and practices.

Execution
Video Pre-Production:
- Team meeting with Safety Specialist over Zoom.
- Team meeting with Safety Specialist at Continental Cement in Hannibal, MO.
- Industry research, project planning, and video shoot preparation.
Video Production:
- One full day (7 hours) shooting with one videographer in at Hannibal, MO, facility.
- One full day (7 hours) shooting with one videographer in at Davenport, IA, facility.
Video Post-Production:

- Process: first drafts submitted, revisions completed, final cuts delivered.
